Introducion of Ms. Alice Lau Ms. Alice Lau – Studied in Rosaryhill School from 1973 to 1986 She was in the third graduating class of the Drama School of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In school, she played the leading role in a number of musicals, including Man of La Mancha and Grease. She was awarded the Most Promising Actor and Outstanding Actress Award. She was a full-time actress of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre from 1990 to 1994. Then, she started her career as free-lance actress and singer. In 1992, her performance in Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s I Have a Date with Spring won her the best actress award (Tragedy/Drama) in that year’s Hong Kong Drama Award. In 1994, I Have a Date with Spring was made into a movie. The theme song won a number of music awards presented by radio and television stations. Her performance in the film won her the best new actress award in the 14th Hong Kong Film Award. The soundtrack reached platinum sales record. From 1994 to 1996 she was a contract artist of Hong Kong EMI. She released two albums. Since then, she has sung the theme songs in a number of stage and television dramas. She has starred in ten films, including Sea root, Farewell my Dearest and One of the Lucky Ones. Recently, she was actively involved in theatre. In 2001, she has played more than 100 performances. Both in 2003 and 04, she was nominated for the best supporting actress award in the Hong Kong Drama Award. In 2006, Alice has been awarded for the Best Supporting Actress Award in the 16th Shanghai Magnolia Stage Performance Award for her title role as the Singer in Love in a Fallen City by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre. This year she has having her first one woman show [ A. Mui ] , performed both in Hong Kong and Singapore , and gained so many good feedbacks.
