Re.:    Award granted to the School by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in HK

Dear friends of Rosaryhill School,

This school year we are celebrating the GOLDEN JUBILEE of the foundation of our school. Most of you know that the school was founded by, and is run by the Dominican Fathers, most of who have strong roots in Spain.

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is willing to congratulate our school on reaching our Golden Jubilee. Every year during its Annual Gala Dinner the Spanish Chamber of Commerce awards the Golden Abacus (ABACO DE ORO) “to a person or institution that has specially contributed to increasing the relationship between Spain and Hong Kong and the Spanish presence in our city.” This year Rosaryhill School will be the recipient of the Golden Abacus award because during its 50 year presence in HK our school has played a role in building an important link between HK and Spain, both spiritually and academically.

The occasion of the award will be held during the Gala Dinner on 11 December 2008, at the REGAL HOTEL HONG KONG. The event’s programme is attached for your reference.

The school will be represented by Fr. Provincial, Supervisor and Fathers of the School, Principals of the different sections, and a few friends. Anyone who wants to enjoy the occasion is welcome. For further information got to the website www.spanish-chamber.com.hk
