10 October 2008
To: All past students and friends of Rosaryhill Re.: Gala Dinner Day: Mass and other activities
Dear past students and friends of Rosaryhill,
Let me share with you all the successful celebration of the THANKSGIVING MASS cum OPENING CEREMONY of our Golden Jubilee on Monday, 6 October. We are all delighted with the dignified and memorable ceremony which marks the commencement of the numerous celebration events commemorating the 50 years history of our school.
You remember well that on 30 November 2008 we have a date with many of you at the Convention Hall - HK Convention and Exhibition Centre - our GALA DINNER. Taking into consideration the suggestions of some past students, this day of celebration will now start from the morning at the school. The following is the programme for the day:
9:30 a.m. - School buses from Central (New World Centre, opposite The Landmark), Wanchai (Southorn Playground (MTR station) and North Point (Shu Kuk St.) to school. For this free bus ride we need registration with information about the stop.
10:30 a.m. - Mass in the School Chapel celebrated by most of the past School Supervisors and some of the present Fathers at the school. We will also invite the school choir, which performed so well at the Thanksgiving Mass, to sing at this Mass. In addition, at the Mass, most importantly, we will remember all those past staff and students who have passed away. Please send the name and year at RHS of any such staff or students we would like to dedicate remembrance at the Mass so a list could be prepared.
11:30 a.m. - Relaxation in the school playgrounds. We do not encourage guided tours around the school on this day since 6 & 7 December have been earmarked as Open Days, part of the Golden Jubilee celebration.
12:15 p.m. - Buffet lunch at the school canteen. Please register for lunch with to ensure that adequate food is provided. For this lunch, the approximate cost is $50.00 and could possibly be lower if there are more participants. (Let me say that the food in the school canteen is good).
2:00 p.m. - End of the day time programme, time to get ready for the Gala Dinner. School buses will drop off all guests at the Southorn Playground.
7:00 p.m. - Gala Dinner at the Convention Hall, HK – Convention and Exhibition Centre. Please feel free to come early. There will be exhibits on the school in the foyer and we can spend some pre-dinner time with old friends as well. For those who prefer to drive to school, parking is available this Sunday.
Looking forward to welcoming you back to school before the Gala Dinner
Yours sincerely
Fr Francisco de las Heras
